Monster Hunter Wilds surpasses one million concurrent users on Steam

Monster Hunter hits record numbers for the long running series
Monster Hunter Wilds Guides

Despite Monster Hunter Wilds only having been out for a few days, it has a record of over one million concurrent players.

As confirmed by SteamDB, there has been a peak of over 1.3 million players seen over the past weekend (March 1st/2nd) on Steam, breaking into the top five of all time for concurrent players. With Monster Hunter Rise, the previous game in the long running series only ever having reached a peak of just under a quarter of a million and Monster Hunter: World hitting an all-time peak of 334,684 players over six years ago.

In our review, Mick Fraser gave this amazing game a 10/10, saying:

As with World and Rise before it, Monster Hunter Wilds feels like a true evolution of the series, maintaining everything that gives it it’s identity but tweaking multiple elements to improve and streamline systems that stir felt a little sluggish. Granted it could be tougher in places, but this was never hard on a Dark Souls level in the first place, and the pay off is an incredibly playable and addictive action game with hours and hours of replayability. After twenty years of such regular releases you might expect Monster Hunter to be showing its age, but Capcom continue to deliver the best possible standard for their biggest selling series, and frankly, that’s just wild.

With a title update promised for April, including two new monsters and a gathering hub for players to spend social time with other hunters, in what is shaping up to be the first in a long line of regular updates to the game, this is a huge game that is going to get even bigger.
