Find and complete the first Shrine challenge.
Revenge of the Savage Planet | Shrine of Timing Guide

While Revenge of the Savage Planet gives you several paths to follow to keep you engaged with its exploration and combat, the closest thing it has to a critical path is the Interstellar Enigma questine. It’s a multi-part quest that presents a series of five challenges found throughout the solar system and will require you to use your skills to collect the pieces of the Pentaforce, a special galactic key.

You’ll first acquire the quest after you find the Software Upgrade for the Planet Cannon, which is a fairly early mission on the first world. Shortly after, you’ll receive a video message at the Habitat and will meet Scrappi, an enigmatic AI with a vested interest in your success. From here on, you’ll be able to find the rough location to five challenges by looking for the purple question mark icons on each world map, which will appear when you get close to them.

They’re not all easy to find or complete, but we’ve put together a series of handy guides that will carry you through all five. Read on to find out how to complete part one of the Interstellar Enigma quest, the Shrine of Timing, in Revenge of the Savage Planet.

Revenge of the Savage Planet

CHALLENGE: Time’s Up

LOCATION: Shrine of Time, Stellaris Prime

HOW TO ACCESS THE SHRINE: Exit the Habitat and head up the hill to the right. You’ll see a section of broken ground that you can smash through when you unlock the Stomp ability on the critical path. Smash the ground to find Scrappi’s Teleporter.

HOW TO COMPLETE THE CHALLENGE: This Challenge requires you to shoot purple targets in order to open doors and continue through the Shrine. Each target will go dark when shot and gradually regain its glow, with each taking a different amount of time. You’ll need to have them all off at once to unlock a door, so the trick is to find the correct sequence.

Revenge of the Savage Planet

Door 1: We shot the lights in this order (counting 1 to 5 from left to right): 5, 3, 4, 2, 1. It may be possible to use different configurations if you’re quick enough.

Door 2: As you first enter the room you’ll see a tube in the centre and a series of purple arrows showing you the way to go. Head to the right and turn around to look at the left of the tube, where you’ll see the first target. Shoot it, then turn around and hook-shot up to the ledge above. Turn again and you’ll see target number 2. Now look up and to the left and you’ll see two grapple points. Use them to get above around the tube where you’ll see the final target. Shoot it and turn around to see the opening of the tube. Jump in ground slam through the red circle.

Door 3: The third room is simple. You have three targets, one each to the left and right hidden behind barriers and one in the middle. But you can shoot through the barriers, so it’s just a case of moving quickly from left to right and hitting all three targets as quickly as possible. Now head through and collect the first part of the Pentaforce.

And now you know all there is to know about locating and completing the Time’s Up challenge in the Shrine of Timing, the first part of the Interstellar Enigma quest in Revenge of the Savage Planet.
