There are many hidden items and crafting materials in Atomfall. Some are found in open crates and around dilapidated buildings. Some on the other hand, are buried underground. The metal detector is a vital piece of kit that comes in handy when you need to find important crafting items, bullets, and even collectables. Head to the pub in Wyndham Village
As mentioned, there are different places to find the metal detector in Atomfall. One way is to visit the pub in Wyndham Village. After speaking to Alf the barman for the first time, you’ll then be able to trade with him. It shouldn’t cost much to trade for the metal detector. We used a couple of explosives, but an unwanted pistol or shotgun should do the trick. Once you have it, it’s time to go and uncover some buried treasure!
Pay attention to the lights
Whenever something is buried nearby, you’ll get a notification pop up. Equip the metal detector and start hunting. It has five LEDs on the display as well as a number gauge. In order to successfully find the treasure, you need to make sure that the gauge reaches its’s maximum number of 10 which indicates the distance. Not only that, the red light indicates the direction. This needs to have the middle red light lit up. Once you’re close and aiming in the right direction, all five red lights start flashing and you can then start digging.
