The Secret Garden Key is a special key you can acquire in the Blue Prince in a variety of ways. However, it isn’t immediately clear how to use it for anything. Here at Loot Level Chill, we’ve spent hours poring over Blue Prince, and have a comprehensive guide to help you effectively use the Secret Garden Key and discover what lies beyond.

Where can I get the Secret Garden Key?
There is unfortunately no guaranteed method to get the Key on a given day, but what you can do is do things that increase your likelihood of picking up items or keys, one of which could be the Secret Garden Key.
These include:
- Complete the Billiard Room dartboard puzzle for a key-related prize. For tips on how to do so click here.
- Draft rooms that contain items. These include:

- Closet
- Walk-In Closet
- Attic

- Draft a Locksmith shop, and purchase a Special Key. There are a few different special keys in Blue Prince, and one of them is the Secret Garden Key, so you could end up with that.
- Draft a Music Room as this room will always have a regular key and a Special Key inside. The Special Key could be a Secret Garden Key.
What is the Secret Garden Key used for?
The Secret Garden Key does what it says it does, it unlocks the door to the Secret Garden. However, you may have noticed that it doesn’t seem to always work on all locked doors, so what is the secret?
Is there a clue hidden somewhere?
As with most things in Blue Prince, there is actually a clue hidden that details how to use the Secret Garden Key. Firstly you will need to have unlocked the Apple Orchard Permanent Addition. You can find a guide on how to unlock this here. Once you have done so, you will have access to the gardener’s hut, where you can read the Gardener’s Logbook. In it, the groundskeeper Robert Nogula writes about many different garden-related subjects. On page three he mentions:
In addition to maintaining the grounds, there are eight green rooms within the house that require some level of upkeep and light groundskeeping. The majority of these I discovered are only draftable on the perimeter of the house along the East and West Wings. The Terrace, Patio, Veranda, Morning Room, Greenhouse, and Secret Garden all fall within this category.
How to use the Secret Garden Key in Blue Prince
So from this we can deduce that the Secret Garden can only be drafted on the East and West sides of the house. Also we know we have a key for it. So in order to use the Secret Garden Key we must:
- Be trying to draft a room on the West or East perimeter of the house
- The door needs to be locked when we draft the room
- Choose to unlock the door with the Secret Garden Key
This will allow you to access the rare Secret Garden room.
