Roadcraft throws a lot of information at you in the first few levels, and it can be hours between you doing something for the first time and then needing to do it again so it can be easy to forget things.
Building bridges crops up in the opening level but if you’ve forgotten how to do it then here’s a quick reminder:
How to build a bridge in Roadcraft
Simply open your map and using R1/RB move over to the rightmost menu option, “Bridges”.
If you don’t see anything in here then it might be that it’s not available yet in the level you’re playing.
In there you’ll see the various bridge options available to you. You’ll just need to select the one you want and then choose a starting position. This can be a bit finicky as where you click isn’t necessarily the centre of the start of your bridge. If it doesn’t look quite right then tap circle or B to undo and try again.
Once you’re happy with the starting position then just drag it across to the end position. Be careful when doing this, it’s often better to overlap the start and end of the bridge with the environment to prevent any gaps between the bridge and the land. Trust me, you don’t want to plan your bridge, gather the resources and haul them over to it only to find out that the AI convoys are going to get stuck trying to get onto it. Don’t forget, if you’re not happy with the bridge position then you can hold square/X on it to delete it and try again.
Once you’ve accepted the positioning then just bring whatever materials are required to one of the squares either end of the bridge.
And you’re done! Sit back, take a minute to enjoy your handiwork and then on to the next objective.
